HOW IT WORKS

Cook.

Six contestants will prepare the ultimate chili. RSVP to Compete.

Judge.

Non-cooks will blind rank the competitors' chilis. RSVP to Eat / Judge.

Dominate.

There will be a few categories - best vegetarian chili, best chili pitch, etc. - but only one competitor will come away with the belt of glory.

When is the Meteor Chili Challenge?
March 16th, 2024 at 5pm EST. Tasting / judging starts at 5:30pm EST.
How do I RSVP?

Why do I need to bring a muffin tin?
Six contestants. Six slots on a muffin tin. Small enough for a tasting. Portable enough for a party.
What is the address?
Details will be shared after you RSVP.
I have a dietary restriction. What do I do?
Let us know in the RSVP form! All contestants will be required to flag ingredients that may conflict with dietary restrictions.
How do I win? What happens if I win?
All non-contestants will be given a form and will blindly rate the chilis. The winner will be awarded the belt of glory. All other contestants will get a T-shirt.
How hot is too hot?
The goal is flavor, not heat. Make something that tastes good, not something that is just overwhelmingly hot.
What do I bring?
Everyone - Bring 1 muffin tin for tasting, bring a drink you want to pair with chili
Competitors - Your chili, a pot for heating your chili, ideally a warmer for your chili, and toppings.
Why a 'Meteor' Chili Challenge?
In 1834 Newton Corner became one of the first metro-linked suburbs in the country. The train from Boston to Newton Corner was called 'The Meteor' and traveled at a brisk 6 miles per hour. Read more here.
